Lindsay Harris
Deputy Inspector General — Investigations and Non-Audit Services
Lindsay Harris brings more than 17 years of state experience to her role as the Independent Office of Audits and Investigations (IOAI) Deputy Inspector General over the Investigations Unit, Business Intelligence Unit, and Administration Unit. Ms. Harris serves as the principal investigations, business intelligence, and administration advisor to IOAI's Inspector General and Chief Deputy Inspector General. She directs staff in the performance of highly sensitive and confidential investigations involving allegations of Caltrans employee misconduct. Ms. Harris also guides the collection, analysis, and interpretation of data to develop strategic insights for decision-makers, and leads the administrative functions vital to supporting IOAI's core activities.
Before coming to IOAI, Ms. Harris worked for the Office of the Inspector General (OIG), which provides oversight of the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. As a Deputy Inspector General, Senior, she led the office's business intelligence and complaint intake teams. Ms. Harris coordinated responses to highly sensitive and confidential complaints from incarcerated persons and other stakeholders. Additionally, she directed the creation of data visualizations for the OIG's website, performance dashboards, and data analytics. Prior to OIG, Ms. Harris served as an Auditor Specialist II and III at the California State Auditor, where she guided a team of highly skilled data analysts in analyzing a broad variety of state systems and authoring reports with key audit findings and recommendations.
Ms. Harris earned her Master of Business Administration degree at California State University, Sacramento, and a Bachelor of Science degree with a dual concentration in General Management and Marketing. Ms. Harris is a Certified Inspector General Inspector/Evaluator through the Association of Inspectors General, and a Certified Information Systems Auditor through the Information Systems Audit and Control Association.
